Voted one of the best guitarists in Roots / Americana, as well as an Arizona Blues Hall Of Fame inductee, Mike Eldred continues to attract fans and accolades whenever he performs. As the leader of the Mike Eldred Trio, Mike has set the bar in the blues / roots / Americana market with his strong songwriting and gift for story-telling that has not only attracted fans of his music, but also many guests on his recordings such as Scotty Moore, Cesar Rosas and David Hidalgo from Los Lobos, Robert Cray, as well as John Mayer.
The Los Angeles Times called Eldred’s second release (“61/49”) one the top ten CD releases of 2011. He has been featured in Guitar World magazine, Guitar Player magazine, Guitar & Bass magazine in France, and many others. He has received positive reviews from Downbeat magazine, Vintage Guitar magazine, New Times, and many others.
Mike continues to play with the trio, but occasionally performs as a solo acoustic act utilizing loops and live over-dubbing to bring a very soulful performance to any stage. He has performed solo acoustic at many theaters and venues throughout the U.S.
As a solo performer, Eldred’s strength as a songwriter really shines. The depth of his skill is focused and framed beautifully with his acoustic guitar and vocal whether playing a current cover, or one of his own compositions.
“Eldred proves that he is a triple-threat: singer, songwriter, and versatile guitarist. “
